The Kabaka Foundation organised a successful two-day free medical camp from 11th to 12th March 2025, at the Ssingo County football grounds in Mityana district, with Prince Kintu David Wasajja representing Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II. This initiative is part of the foundation's commitment to providing free medical services across all counties in the Buganda Kingdom.
In his message, Ssabasajja Kabaka expressed gratitude to the residents of Ssingo County for their enthusiastic participation in the event, which was held under the theme "TUBEERE BALAMU." This initiative has already reached three counties, highlighting the foundation's ongoing efforts to promote health and wellness in the region.
Ssabasajja Kabaka extended his appreciation to the dedicated medical personnel, medical centres, and partners, including Diamond Trust Bank, I&M Bank, and Buganda Kombucha, as well as religious leaders who have supported this vital health initiative.
Ssabasajja emphasised the importance of awareness regarding several health issues affecting the community, including:
* The rising incidence of prostate cancer among men aged 40 and above.
* An increase in HIV infections.
* A growing prevalence of sickle cell disease.
Ssabasajja urged the community to prioritise regular medical check-ups and seek treatment as part of the "TUBEERE BALAMU" campaign, which translates to "Let us be healthy."
Additionally, Ssabasajja Kabaka thanked Mukwenda and the subcounty chiefs for their collaboration with the Kabaka Foundation in making this health drive a success. The event underscored the foundation's commitment to improving health outcomes and raising awareness about critical health issues in the Buganda Kingdom.
It was a vibrant and empowering event, held at CBS, the Kingdom's radio station. The occasion was graced by a distinguished group of women leaders, including the Prime Minister of Uganda, Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, who took the opportunity to express gratitude to Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II for his support in allowing the women to broadcast on CBS.
During her address, Hon. Nabbanja stated that Ssabasajja Kabaka’s support highlighted the significance of the day and acknowledged the contributions of women in various sectors. This showed the importance of showcasing women's capabilities, as reflected in the decision to have all station programs led by women on this special day.
In a notable moment, Hon. Nabbanja read the 9 PM news, where she took a moment to thank the Almighty for the long life of Ssabasajja Kabaka, wishing him a happy 70th birthday in advance, which will be celebrated on April 13, 2025.
The event featured several other prominent women who participated in reading the news, including Princess Marion Nankya Wasajja, Minister for Kampala Hajjati Minsa, Woman MP for Wakiso district Hon. The restoration of the Kasubi Temple has reached the final stages, the King is pleased with the work done.
Renovation of toilets, parking lot, electrification of every corner, completion of the maids' houses, are some of the remaining improvements so that the renovation work can be taken off.
The final stages of the cleaning require care, and the work to be fingerprinted should be completed properly, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga said while visiting the work with the Kabaka's ministers and members of the Buganda Assembly, especially the members of the Culture and Traditional Committee.
He thanked the people of Buganda for their patience and not being distracted by the pain they have gone through.
Currently tourists, schools, and individuals are allowed to visit the temple after UNESCO recently removed it from the list of endangered tourist sites.
The Kasubi Temple was burnt down in 2010, and efforts to restore it have been made in various ways, including raising bricks, flowers, and others.
The Ekisaakaate 2025 camp concluded with Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga urging people to use technology to promote culture rather than weaken it. He emphasised the importance of creating online platforms for clans and encouraged parents to balance technology use with real-world interactions.
Queen Sylvia Nagginda warned against drug abuse and advised participants to apply and share what they learnt. Minister Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko highlighted the importance of instilling values in children from an early age, while Kkangaawo Ronald Mulondo praised the event's impact on the Bulemeezi community.
Mike Kironde, founder of St. Mary’s School Janan, where the event was hosted, commended the program for positively influencing children’s behaviour. The Katikkiro inaugurated a smart learning centre, and the Queen opened a science education facility.
The event showcased participants’ skills through songs, dances, poetry, and games, with outstanding students receiving awards.
The Kabaka was commended by the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Development for his 'Mmwanyi Terimba' initiative, which has contributed to poverty eradication and economic growth in Buganda and Uganda.
Speaking at the 2025 Traditional and Cultural Leaders Conference, Minister Betty Amongi praised the King’s efforts in promoting maize farming as a key strategy for economic development. She also acknowledged the dedication of traditional and cultural leaders in supporting their communities’ economic recovery.
Minister Amongi urged leaders to help fight child marriage, domestic violence, and human rights violations while promoting public health. She also encouraged them to guide politicians in maintaining peace during political unrest.
Deputy Minister of Gender and Culture, Hon. Peace Mutuuzo, appreciated traditional leaders for including women in leadership, which has improved their status in society.
It was noted that traditional and cultural leaders receive training from the Office of the Prime Minister and other agencies to ensure they operate within legal frameworks.
Kabaka Foundation hosted a medical camp at St. Joseph’s Parish in Kyengera, located in the Buddu subcounty of Wakiso district.
Oweekitibwa Robert Kaggwa Nsibirwa, the Treasurer of Buganda Kingdom, represented Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Mutebi at the event.

Ssabasajja expressed gratitude to the medical professionals and all partners involved in this campaign.
In a heartfelt gesture, Ssabasajja expressed his gratitude to Ssabasumba Paul Ssemwogerere and Msgr. Lawrence Kanyike, the head of St. Joseph’s Parish Kyengera, for providing the venue and their involvement in organising the medical camp. He also extended his thanks to Supreme Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, Rt. Rev. Moses Banja, Metropolitan Jeronymos Muzeeyi, and other religious leaders for their continued support of the Kabaka Foundation’s initiatives in enhancing healthcare for the community.
